Good afternoon, been a while since I've been on Stage 32 so I'm reintroducing myself and letting you know a bit about or show. I'm Floyd Marshall Jr, founder of the Philadelphia Independent Film Awards. A show which celebrates independent filmmaking worldwide. We're holding our third annual show May 16- 20 in Philadelphia at The International House Philadelphia. I started this endeavor to highlight and to show an appreciation for the people who work tirelessly, oftentimes with little to no recognition. We screen films for four days that have been nominated by a stellar panel of judges. Ranging from Best Picture, to screenplays, score, short films, LGBTQ, web series and our own Tri State Breakout short film category and music videos. We also have a Best Actor/Actress and Supporting Actor/Actress category as well. This is the indie filmmakers Oscars and we treat it as such. It's a red carpet affair, complete with glamorous actresses and actors. The entire night is geared toward one thing, celebrating our peers. We also have a non profit the Independent Film Association of Philadelphia, geared towards steering young people into the many aspects of filmmaking be it in front of or behind the camera as well as doing philanthropic work in the community.
