Just take this all with a grain of salt. This is an Academy Award nominated film and Primetime Emmy Award winner that was backed and created by the likes of Katherine Bigelow.
That said, the real insight that film makers need to look at is, even with all that going for it, it didn't turn a profit until 3.5 years into its release cycle which was almost 4 years after its first release (festival). Now it will continue to make money for its investors.. but that's more than 4 years after the initial funding was put down on this film. Be honest with your expectations to your investors.
