Hello everyone! I am about to graduate from college in May with a BA in Communications with a Film Concentration. At the moment I like to do any and all Film jobs, but I'd like to be a writer in the end. I guess a little bit more in depth about me, I'm in my earlier 20's, Have been writing in general since the age of 9, screenplays since freshman year in high school granted they sucked! I'm Christian, non-denominational. I'm a quarter Asian but I tend to stick to those roots more than my Sweedish or my other mix. Both my parents are Medical Professionals, so that was a fun discussion of convincing them I want to write. I like to learn a lot so I tend to be the crazy uncle in friend groups spouting random facts about lots of things. I like to listen and finally I'm here to see where the journey takes me! Thanks!
Welcome Genevieve!

Welcome, Genevieve! If you're interested in writing for TV my advice would be - get ye to LA! You're the right age, and currently LA is leaning towards hiring non-white, non-male TV writers, so the job environment is in your favor. Find a way to become a writer's assistant on a TV show. Or even start as a celebrity's assistant. But before you do any of those things make sure you have a killer TV pilot (or two) to show people. Too many people move to LA without great stuff already in their portfolio.
If, on the other hand, you want to write features - heck, you can do that from anywhere and move to LA when one of them gets picked up :)
Feel free to DM me and I'll send you some links to some resources that might be helpful.
