I'm also a screenwriter...tougher when not able to schmooze in CA, but once I get a list of agents to pitch my many scripts to, hopefully something can happen. I've been offered straight-out purchases before but the price was too low. I came back offering option for that amount. The director told me he though it was a festival script, but the funders of the project decided a zombie movie was more of a sure thing!!! :(

I have been in contact with a production company for one of my features, but they want me to relinquish the script so that they can attach their own writer. I've been advised not to do this, and after much consideration, it isn't what I want to do. After spending over a year researching and writing and re-writing until I have the script where I want it, I'm not comfortable allowing someone else to take the writing credit. Has anyone else had this experience?
