Hi, I produced a documentary on a friend of mine who came out of the human trafficking industry. She has a gripping and emotional story that I believe would connect with a wide audience as well as raise awareness about the epidemic of human trafficking as a whole. What I need is a production company to come along side of me to help produce this. I believe this could be done on a manageable budget and still be high quality. I would also love to donate some of the proceeds from the films to human trafficking organizations like exoduscry.org and compassiontoact.org If anyone is interested in learning more or how they could help make this God-given vision of mine a reality-let me know:) Thx!! The subject is real and we see it often in Las Cruces, NM. We have some great locations in Southern NM border. We have crew and equipment and we are always looking to get involved in Indie Productions. If I were you I would put a pitch package together and approach Participant Media. Get them involved as a co-producer. Once they write you a check, produce it here along the border. (Las Cruces, El Paso and Juarez) Lionsgate has been active in distributing projects produced in New Mexico.
Hey Vince that’s good advice. I’ll have to look into that. I’m pretty new to this side of things. Is there a site I can go to on how to best pitch to these companies?
Facebook has a group called the Pitch 101, Squeeky Moore runs it and has published a book about pitching film and TV. Bank Roll by Tom Molloy (book). RB Botto (stage 32 founder) just published a book..(crowdfunding)...I haven't read it yet. Stage 32 also does webinars on pitching. In fact they just did a free one on this sometime in March. It might still be posted on Stage32.
