Just introducing my self again. I'm a first time author and my book is "The Salvation of San Miguel." While I'm working on a second book, the rough draft is done, I'm thinking about branching into screenplay writing. I'm a retired college professor (communications) trying to start a new chapter in my life.
Glad to meet you. I've had people tell me they could envision my book as a movie. I've got another Stage32 friend who is interested in trying to do a screen play of the book. What does your food truck specialize in?
Hello, Austin. It can be a challenge to move from book to screen. Trying to take those three or four hundred pages, extract the core elements, and then condense them into about 120 pages is a challenge. The writing is very different. However, don't let anyone discourage you from giving it a try. I have six published novels and have written seven screenplays with one optioned and one a credited writing assignment. I have still not attempted to convert any of my novels. I have found that my emotional attachment to the stories has made trying to cut them into little pieces a bit painful. Maybe some day. Best wishes and good luck.
Morgan, I realize it will be cut. I only draw the line on two parts. They're brief, but they must be included. I'm not holding my breath, but I appreciate your words.
Writing a book takes lots of time, investigation, building characters. Nothing is for free.
True, but there is fun in the journey.
