On Writing : Comic books anyone? by Vasco Phillip de Sousa

Just wondered if anyone here works in the world of comics (or graphic novels), and has any wisdom to share on that topic.

I like Brazilian comics, some superheroes, Tintin and Belgian comics, Asterix, Japanese Manga, even Archie, and my favourite has to be Calvin and Hobbes (because its creator refuses to turn it into a franchise, and because it's funny)... But, where I live, it's almost all Marvel and DC.

I have some ideas for new titles, I wonder if the comics industry is still open to new ideas (or if I should start writing in Flemish or Japanese.)
