Hello all of you wonderful creatives! I am new here, just joined today - after discovering Stage32, I just simply could not help myself!
I am an Author/Novelist wanting to learn the art of Script Writing to bring my books to film. My "Cocooning The Butterfly" book/novel was given a 5-Stars Review on Amazon recently, comparing my writing to the great Gabriel Garcia Marquez! I am thrilled, to say the least.
I aim to pick the brains of those pros and learn from the best of the best because this, is my natural calling ... I must write, because my characters are screaming at me daily to release them from the confines of my imagination.

Hi Laila, I would suggest the "Scriptwriter's Bible", and not the "Save the Cat". You are at a very advantages place because you know the material and you already know how your script will end. All you need is the formatting. I would also suggest WriterDuet for your script writing.

'Scriptwriter's Bible'; Where would she find a copy? (Simple typos can complicate matters.)
Welcome aboard Laila. I'm confident that you'll find a lot of help & guidance on this forum. (Get a copy of Dave Trottier's 'Screenwriter's Bible.)
Thank you all so much for the greetings, welcomes and advice/tips ... it is truly appreciated, and heart warming to be received with open arms.

I would agree with Dough Nelson. Get a copy of Screenwriter's Bible. Don't bother with Save the Cat. Also use Meetup.com to connect to groups to get feed back on writing. Such as this one in Culver City: https://www.meetup.com/LA-Play-Reading/
Also look into The Actors Workout Studio in North Hollywood. They have a writers workshop which is free and they are looking for women writers.
