Hi everyone. I wrote one of these introductions a while back (maybe a year or two ago) and thought that I would do another. My name is Mike Daniels and I reside in a small town in Texas called Dublin. It is a very small town of under 4,000 population and mostly agricultural. This has made it very difficult to find anyone interested in film as I am. I have been working on making film a career for about 10 years now with very little success. I have several short film ideas and have written a couple of short screenplays. I have attempted to shoot one of them about three years ago and it didn't turn out the way I wanted. I think that a couple of things happened. I went in under prepared and I had no seasoned crew to help me get the look I was going for and the audio was basically unusable. So needless to say I have been working on a feature screenplay and have decided to rewrite and attempt to reshoot the short I tried three years ago. I guess I should also mention that my preferred genres are horror and sci-fi. I look forward to making some connections and hopefully some working relationships. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Hi Mike! Not sure where you’re located in Texas but there’s a group of filmmakers and scriptwriters that are working to build the film industry in the Dallas/Ft Worth area. We have a premiere this Tuesday for films we’ve made throughout the past year. The filmmaking group just became a non-profit organization and the screenwriting group is in the process of becoming a for profit company. The screenwriters are planning to take a group to AFM in November. Are you on Facebook?

Hi Nicole. Thanks for the response. Yes I am on facebook, my name on there is mike.daniels.771, as well as my film page at thoughtboxst. I live in Dublin, TX. That is about 2 to 21/2 hours from Dallas. That all sounds amazing and I would love to take part, although I currently only have one vehicle and my wife has it most of the time for work. But, I would like to know more. I also forgot to mention in my initial greeting that I also do a weekly podcast on the horror genre. It can be found at www.fearcentral.net.
