Introducing!
Hello everyone- I’m Jonnathon Cripple, an older Actor in Los Angeles.
I’ve been in and around this indutry for quite a while as a film actor, union since about 1983+/-. I have a degree in Directing from USIU School of Performing Arts. I find that -that, however, is primarily usefull for stage and live performance. In the early 1980’s I started a company which provided ‘character talent’ to the special events industry and spent some 25 years creating (over 2000) original characters that wwirked interactively with audience in a believable fashion... and often playing those characters myself whether they were the haggard businessman or Blackbeard, the pirate, or Lottie the laundry lady (yes. And it was really fun). I quickly discovered I really had some skill at working with actors! Yay! My directing degree was paying off in a way I had never expected.
After closing Wackos!, my company, in 2008, (recession) I embarked again on my Acting career only to discover that while I was focused elsewhere all the rules and practices had changed! Oh well... not being one to ahy away drom a challenge I decided to suck it up and start over. So far the best gig I have had is being ‘the heavy’ (an alcoholic, abusive father) in a short film called Heavy Rain, directed by Motaz Elbahaey, which went to the festival at Cannes this year (as well as several other festivals). Happy for that, I am ready for more of the same!
Recently I have been considering trying my hand at directing some short films (YouTube??) 10-15 min long, simple locations, strong recognizeable style(s) ie Noir, Western, Campy Sci-Fi, etc. ... could be interesting... now to find a story and funding... and put together a team...
Oy! Why does everything have to be so difficult!?
Ahhh well- here’s to the good fight! Stay tuned and enjoy!

Hey, Jonnathon, hope you're doing well. With all of your experience I might be hitting you up for some advice :)
Good to meet you this weekend
Hi Jonnathon. It will not be that difficult to find a story. I have over 50 short form scripts and I am always interested in collaboration.
