Producers!
If you have previously used Payroll Services and Signatory Consulting Services for your projects, I need your opinion. You don't have to tell me what company you used, but I'm very interested in hearing what you liked and what you did not like. As a Manager of a company that provides such services to independent producers, I want to get some honest feedback about your experiences, so that I can, in turn, elevate what we're doing to a whole new level.
For instance, I already know that some of the bigger providers tend to make producers do all of the legwork instead of alleviating as many administrative headaches as possible. I also know that those same big companies are slow to respond to what they consider to be "small fish". But I've been wondering: is there anything else that you wish was done better for you? Tell me!

for indie films, I have used ABS payroll several times and they are very good and competitively priced. Easy to work with and keep the union and state accounting right... I have no idea what you mean by signatory consulting service... that sounds like line producer or supervising producer or just producer... all of which is my usual job.
I would hope you liked ABS! We actually work with them on union projects. They do payroll, while we help out with Signatory Consulting. To clarify, what I meant by that is we are a Signatory Producer with SAG-AFTRA, DGA, MPI/IATSE, WGA. For example, we help get projects approved by SAG-AFTRA, we take care of P&H contributions for unions, we help with the post-production processes, etc. While we also do payroll in-house, when it comes to working with ABS, we only do the Signatory portion of services. Hope that makes more sense.
But yes, I am a firm believer that everything can and should always be improved and elevated, so that's why I'm here, asking for feedback from everyone who tried such services. Thank you for yours! Hope to hear from others too :)
