I like to watch remakes to learn how the same story can be developed. The one that comes to mind are the remakes of "Little Women". The story is the same, but they were all different in their appeal. The last remake with Ryder was probably the best. I'm not sure if it was the script or Ryder's performance. Those remakes are educational.
I like the Little Women with Winona Ryder too. I didn't see the newest version. I feel like they took the heart out of the story when they moved it to a different time period.
Another remake series was A Little Princess. The latest was excellent, but the one with Shirley Temple was excellent. It lacked the modern day special effects, but still had a great script.
You're a producer. If there's any actress out there for a drama part it would be Winona Ryder. Her performance in Little Women was superb. She needs to avoid the super-human roles and stick with the drama genre. She's should be doing more.
