Introduce Yourself : Hi everyone! by Natalia Alyukova

Natalia Alyukova

Hi everyone!

I'm a period drama lover, and I want to work on the type of films & tv that once inspired myself. Period drama has been my guilty pleasure for 10 years now, but I only recently rediscovered my passion for writing.

Almost two years ago I happened to meet one of the most accomplished period drama screenwriters of today, and I must say - what a difference it makes to meet someone who does what you've secretly wanted to do for a while but never had the guts to do it.

Last year I completed my first (and the only completed one for the moment) feature script set in 16th century England. Having found my niche, I want to work on the projects that are based on true stories and the people who inevitably shaped history and the world as we know it today.

My hope for the future and reason for being on this site is finding people who share the same passion for true stories, historical films, high quality drama and the kind of filmmaking that can be both educational and entertaining.

I'm an exophonic writer - I write in my second language, it being English, although I was born and grew up in Russia. So I can always provide assistance with translation, maybe some Russian dialogue etc. in your own projects, so feel free to connect. Also, if my wording is somewhat strange or funny, that's because I probably translated directly from Russian and didn't proofread my post (so... apologies).

With Love from Russia

Hi Natalia, nice to meet you and welcome to Stage 32! It's great that you know what you want to do, it means that you will always write with passion.

I'm from Birmingham, UK. I got to visit Moscow through my day job 3 years ago - it's a beautiful city.

I like to write darkly comic stories but occasionally I get drawn to other projects too. If you'd ever like some feedback or advice on your work I'd be happy to help.

Thanks, Adam, I’ll drop a line if need be. I actually went to uni in Birmingham and a lot of my friends still live there. So if you’re interested in meeting up for a coffee for a chat or something, I could drop you a message? There’s a chance I’ll be coming around in the next couple of months

Adam Harper

Oh wow, so you can understand the Birmingham accent? :-)

Of course, let me know the next time you will visit and we can arrange to meet and chat. I also run a writing group in the city centre. If your visit coincides with the meet up you're welcome to join us too :-)
