Wondering if anyone has writing partners or fellow writers to bounce ideas off of and/or help critique your work. I'm in desperate need of a trustworthy writing community. Do you have one and if so, how does it work for you?

Hi Darren! It definitely helps to have a partner to bounce ideas off of and get feedback. I’m so excited right now because I found one here through the recent “meet and intro” online event stage32 hosted. We’re currently working on a tv series together. So, my advice would be to network as much as possible and get to know people through this platform—it’s amazing :). Best of luck to you!!

I've found some good writing partners and critique/feedback partners through Reddit's screenwriting sub, also a few here. Plus there are good websites like zoetrope, Coverflyx, talentville where you can submit your script for amateur readers/writers to give feedback. Though you'd also have to read and give feedback on other people's work

I think you have to develop relationships with people first, and get a feel of who they are and what their qualifications are, versus going the anonymous/unknown writing group route. I've heard tons of horror stories about that kinda group thing, and witnessed a few in real life and in a few different cities, too.

I have developed a group of trustworthy and competent writers over time here on Stage32, and mostly as a result of networking with them at first and then corresponding with them, or as a result of forum posts, and/or interacting with them in the forums. It's a great place to make those types of relationships and to find competent people that you can trust and believe in.

Best fortunes to you in your creative (and networking/group-building) endeavors, Darren!
