For the past several months I've been working on developing a NEW late night themed variety and talk show called Up Late with Johnny Potenza. Yes ... it will be available via streaming so the Up Late theme will be mostly in name only.
The basic format of the show is segments for sketch comedy, with follow-up talk and other entertainment interviews... such as for people in film, TV, music and other entertainment. Rebooting a page from the older Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, it will be good natured, and even with some slapstick comedy with laughs for all in front of a live studio audience.
We will be supporting (promoting) it with podcasts and social media content as well.
Based in NYC, sometime we'd love to bring the show all around Americana, so that audiences from all over can participate in the program. Logistically challenging and expensive, it would need to of course have support from a large fanbase. So I see some sort of crowdfunding in the future to help support such projects.
I hope to have a few episodes produced before next year's Network Upfronts, so it can also be sold to a cable TV network for broader distribution.
