Hi all, I'm Tim Fraser-Granados, a German-born Scottish filmmaker. In September 2018, I moved from Edinburgh in Scotland to Bellingham, WA. My interests lie in writing and directing suspense films, noirs, mysteries and dramas that are stylistically and visually reminiscent of classical Hollywood.
I'm looking for like-minded creators, crew and producers in Washington and beyond. I have recently completed the screenplay for my first US feature film, The Downward Spiral, which is a neo noir set in the Pacific Northwest, and which is currently in development.
Films have been my biggest passion since childhood when I first saw Chaplin's Gold Rush at a secondary school screening (although I prefer Buster Keaton to Chaplin). Other influential films include my all-time favourite, Mysteries of Lisbon, Kiss Me Deadly, Alien (which I first watched when I was eight years old), The Red Shoes, My Man Godfrey, Johnny Guitar, The Killer, Le Samourai, High and Low, the Lone Wolf & Cub series and Mulholland Drive.
In 2011, I decided to pursue filmmaking in my free time and made the short films The Poet Dreaming Of The City Of Light (director, editor & cinematographer), The Sleeper (writer, director, editor & cinematographer) and Their Dreams of Lisbon (writer, director, editor & cinematographer). I made my first feature film, Blood's A Rover, in Scotland. I was the executive producer, writer, director, editor, cinematographer, sound designer and mixer. The film was screened at the L.A. Neo Noir Novel Script and Film Festival in May and is still being submitted to film festivals before it goes public on Vimeo this coming November.
Thanks for having me!
Hey Tim! Welcome to Stage 32. I am a Seattle area based screenwriter. I'll send you a network request. Let's grab a beer sometime. Cheers!
Hi Tony, sure thing.
If you ever decide to come down to Reno, I'll buy you a cuppa!
Hi Tim. I am off to the Edinburgh Festival this weekend - have you anything showing there?
Unfortunately not, P Hegarty but thank you for asking. Enjoy the trip.
John Ellis, thank you for the offer. I'll take you up on it should I make it to Reno sometime.
