Earlier in the year my book came out, Making Readers Care with Psychology and Structure: The Step-by-Step Guide to Writing Totally Gripping Novels, Film and TV Scripts.
It takes a slightly different approach from the usual scriptwriting books by talking a lot about using psychology and thinking about the viewer/reader at each stage, besides discussing structure, emotional beats, and so on. Check it out. It's based on a course I've been teaching for years.
