Hello, I'm Thayne. I've been a art director / production designer on mostly indie films and commercials. I've shot my first serious short / poc during this past summer and it now moves slowly through the post production process. I did shoot one other short over ten years ago, during down times of another production more for fun and experimentation, but I really don't count that one.
I feel that I have gone down an odd path as a creative, but I may discover that I am not alone in that process. Even though I work in film and that my fearful nexts steps are directing & producing, that is not where I started. I started as a fine artist, then moved to graphic design [AAS / BYUI] due to fear in how to support a family, then to illustration (entertainment) [BFA / ACCD] because I realized that wasn't me, then into filmmaking [MFA / ACCD] because it would enrich my pursuits in entertainment and that another degree would allow me to teach, just in case. And then I became a photographer our of need.
I feel this is crazy, but jumping in and direct my own content and others as a director and that I want to produce my own projects. But producing is something I know nothing about other than watching other producers do their thing.
Experienced advice, suggestions, recommendations are welcomed! Thank you for having me at Stage32!
