That is how Lady Caroline Lamb described George Gordon, Lord Byron, in the early 19th Century. I am not that man. However, as Lord Byron described himself when asked, I would borrow those self-same words, and say: "I am all things by turns, and nothing long."
My name is Jon Christopher. I am a poet, novelist, screenwriter, and raconteur. I am also a recovering lawyer. That said I am the sole progeny of a young Irish dancer from County Clare, and an American Naval commander. I was delivered atop a pool table in the Officers' Club in Coco Solo, Panama, at 03:19 a.m., by an "Ear, Nose & Throat Specialist" shanghaied from the bar. Apart from having gills between my ribs, and webbed feet, I was free of abnormalities. God's truth!
To date, I have written, four volumes of prose-poetry, including a bilingual, French-English edition, titled Sanctuary. The aforementioned are presently "out of print." Additionally, I have written a 6th Century Norse saga titled "Beowulf the Bears Son" (an Origin story that was six years and seven hundred pages in the making). I have written nine screenplays, including one documentary (095 Degrees True), about the U.S, Navy's greatest peacetime disaster off the California coast, on September 8th, 1923, and penned a Nichol's Fellowship Semi-Finalist (The Gypsy). More recently I published a rock 'n roll memoir, 1966-1977, titled "Robin, Stevie Nicks & Me," which precipitated a bounty being placed on my head, by innumerable Stevie Nick's fans. C'est la vie.
Most recently, I collaborated with a Finnish filmmaker named Anton Jokikunnas (who found me here at Stage 32), and wrote the screenplay for his project titled, "Angels of the Dark, mc" (IMDb), which is now in pre-production and for which he owes me 12,500 Euros!
I have a fondness for rum, islands in the stream, Irish poets and long-legged women half my age with hair to their waist and violet eyes. These last four, almost five years I have been living in my sloop, La Bruja Del Mar, along with my two Boxers, Princess Misty from the Planet Moo, and her brother, Bayou Bay.
I have enjoyed a wonderful life and will continue to live life to the fullest, until such time as I go face-down in my porridge. If I can be of service, do not hesitate to get in touch. I am available as a guest lecturer and am happy to bloviate and wax philosophical, on such diverse subjects as pheromone poisoning, and love and the high maintenance female.
It's been a pleasure visiting with you.
Jon Christopher, J.D.
