Hey guys!
My name is Jeffrey. I'm a writer/director/editor out of Nashville, TN. I just signed up with Stage32 today and so far I'm loving all of it. For the past four years or so, my creative partner and I have been creating a TV series concept called, "The Alley." We just finished finalizing a proof of concept that we shot and edited and are starting to begin the next phase, pitching. We're novice in many ways to this world, so that's why I'm beyond ecstatic that I happened to come across Stage32. If anyone has any advice or can point me in the right direction of where I should frequent in terms of questions and answers to TV series pitching, show running, TV Writing, etc., I would be most grateful!
Happy to be here!
-Jeffrey

Welcome Jeffrey! good luck with "The Alley" and stage32 is definitely a good place to find some direction and info. Lots of great stuff on here.
Hi Jeffrey Brant and greetings from Slovenia.
Good luck with pitching "The Alley". I'd love to know more on how things go because I have no idea what pitching a series goes like over there.
Over here our producer was able to pitch a TV series to a local network and they said they'd pick it up if we made a pilot and they liked it so in a couple of months we're shooting the pilot episode.

We've gone a couple different routes so far Vital Butinar . Production houses, studios are next. We had a couple phone calls with some guidance but it seems if you've got nothing under your belt previously, a lot of people aren't willing to take the risk. Which we 100% understand! So, our goal is to cast 1000 lines and see which one bites. Can shoot you our trailer if you'd like to check it out for the proof!
Oh cool. Most definitely I'd like to see.
Yeah I do understand what you said about people not willing to take the risk if you haven't got the experience but at the end of the day it's a catch 22 if you can't get a chance to do something you don't have it on your resume and unfortunately there's only so much a small team of people can do without a budget.
The pilot we're shooting is completely on our own dime. Thankfully we were able to secure locations trough some trusted producers that had already shot at the locations and were able to cast a few people who love to act and do it as a hobby with the promise that if it get's green light they're in. Thankfully we've got all the equipment so the only actual cost is going to be transportation and food.
I'm actually really interested in how things go with your series because I'd like to know more about the process. I wasn't present with our pitch since the producer pitched the idea way before I was in the picture but I know that he was able to pitch to the network executive because they're acquaintances from some other TV related projects. But how it goes elsewhere I have no idea.

Vital Butinar We were literally in your exact position two years ago! Aside from our DP and crew and catering, everything was literally pro bono. You just gotta find the people that believe! In the end we're all just playing make believe, but it's still gotta move the guy or girl next to you...cause otherwise, why are you even doing it?!? I hope you have those people.
So I feel every bit of your weight from here. But it too shall pass! It will work out, and hopefully you guys come out with not only a product you're proud of but also a product that sells!

welcome
Wow Jeffrey Brant very cool! I didn't actually know what "The Alley" stood for until I started watching and I realized it's set in a bowling alley. Congratulations on a greta proof of concept because it looks really interesting. I loved the music at the end and the mood the lighting did. I'd actually be really happy if I was able to watch more.

Vital Butinar Thank you so much for watching my friend! We think we have something special here so we're excited to start pitching!
Thank you Rutger Oosterhoff! I will have a look at it.
My pleasure Jeffrey Brant! Unfortunately I'm really far away but if there's something you'd need my help with or something to cooperate on something I'd be happy to.
