Hi to all!
Please feel free to pitch in regardless of the "level" you are at. I am curious about the need for VFX in the Indie film/tv world and what it is worth:
Do you first seek to hire a VFX contractor/vendor to provide post production fx, or do you search for "ready-made" templates or assets instead? And let me know why either way
Do you feel the need for vfx contractors/vendors is growing/sustaining/shrinking in the film/tv industry?
If you are hiring a contractor what is the first general aspect you are looking for (to be successful)?
... and if you have reservations about working with a contractor, what generally is the problem that may cause the project to be unsuccessful?
What is your typical time budget for postproduction vfx in a (yours) typical project?
Thanks in advance and feel free to chime in
Interesting perspective..... I also feel many tools out there for VFX are becoming more user-friendly. I think the downside for someone using vfx software is the time to learn it versus the project timeline.

I'm an editor with VFX background, I would love to find out more about the project...now to the topic.
The major problem with buying premade animations are many for untrained artists. I get plenty of calls with people buying premade and having no clue how to use or correct issues that they can cause. A lot of video production jobs are undervalued still and people work very hard and with more passion than others. I have the opportunity to take jobs at many levels but still love to work on young creative projects to provide support in our community.
