Hi, I am uploading my latest film project onto Amazon Prime Videos for online streaming, which screened in thirty cinemas last year. As in the enclosed image from my desktop screen, is there a way to do captions for your project with a document file? Prime Video needs this for streaming. Any advice appreciated. Thanks.
Here on their support page they suggest engaging a 3rd party to do the caption files: https://videodirect.amazon.com/home/help?topicId=G201979140 - list of providers at the bottom.
Great, thank you!
You're welcome! I was curious about it myself. Good luck with it!
Hey Nicholas. Have you done your captioning yet? There is an app for Macs and maybe PCs called Descript that you can use to transcribe your film. I believe you can then export the transcription in two different captioning formats. I use Descript to transcribe interviews that I shoot and I haven't tried what I'm suggesting since I don't need it but I know it has that export capability. It might be worth a look.
Cheers Kevin. Amazon update after adding .xml file into Captions section

Thanks! Well done. Second feature, that's really impressive. Also, yes, all good here with Covid-19 so far. Going on my 3rd weekend staying in but, on the bright side, I"m getting tons of writing done. Hope all is well with you. Every day it feels like it's creeping closer.
