Introduce Yourself : Director/Screenwriter looking to network by Jon Sanhueza

Jon Sanhueza

Director/Screenwriter looking to network

Hi everyone,

Jon here. LA based writer-director.

Anyone interested in some reading material while you self-quarantine, my last feature script HOSTILE CREATURES -- a low budget thriller -- got a great response on the blacklist website.

From the reader: "A perverse tale of children outlaws, this is finally the intelligent yet uncompromising resurrection of 70s exploitation audacity, refined with an even clearer use of poetic cruelty to create a film both dirty-as-sin and rigorously intelligent... Low-budget, almost indie scale should make this an easy piece of transgressive filmmaking to realize for interested producers."

Now that I'm stuck indoors, I'm finally wrapping up the first draft of my next story-- a body snatchers-esque horror feature.

Hope everyone is staying safe and sane!

Best,

J

I love creepy children's stories. One of my favorites is The Veldt (Bradbury). I liked it so much I wrote a 3 movement piece about it. Creepy. Where can I see the work?

Jon Sanhueza

Thanks RB! I've actually sent it to a couple folks through this site and got some amazing feedback. I think it's that much stronger because of it!:)

Hey Melissa, thanks! I'd love to hear your work. Please let me know where I can find it... Also, the script above isn't really a "children's story", but a story with children in it-- it's much more of a gritty R-rated thriller along the lines of Prisoners, Winter's Bone, No Country For Old Men, etc...

Love hearing that, Jon. Wishing you all the best with it, my friend.
