Hi everyone, I hope that you're all keeping well and getting through these days of self-isolation like a boss. I am a Pakistani-Canadian filmmaker currently in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and I started my career in the media industry in 2003 as a video editor and was subsequently trained in film and TV direction. I've also dabbled in magazine journalism, having been an editor and writer for an English language travel and lifestyle magazine in Saudi Arabia. I love traveling and meeting new people.
My forte is screenplay writing and film/TV direction, but I do get involved in all aspects of a production when called for. I have a deep love for academia and have been a film studies instructor, imparting knowledge to young minds and mentoring university students in the craft of documentary filmmaking.
Anywho, I'm trying to make the most of this situation which we're all in at the moment, dusting off old notebooks with ideas that may just need a fresh approach. I've begun writing a fun and quirky short animated film about a hermit crab who chances upon a GoPro camera, which allows him to shed his introverted nature, become a photographer to other decapods and eventually sees him finding love. Kinda inspired by a news item about a crab taking a selfie with a lost GoPro! Shellfish selfies are for real. :-)
