Screencraft is generally considered one of the top 10 script contests. I don't know if the prestige element is diluted by the fact that they have competitions in so many genres, but I don't think placing high or winning their contest will hurt your resume. Screencraft has been good to me.

I know two writers from online who won screencraft contests, both later became WGA members. I don't believe they're shills.
The contest win lead to meetings with legit Reps & WGA signatory companies/Bosses.

Hey Christopher Xavier Lozano! It is great to have you here! I am the Director of Script Services for Stage 32. I wanted to reach out because you may not be aware of the Stage 32 screenwriting competitions, which have launched careers for the winners. In every one of our contests, we fly the winner to LA to take meetings with industry pros, including managers, producers, agents, and studio executives.
As a result of winning Stage 32 screenwriting contests, writers have been signed, optioned, and/or are working in the industry as writers right now. I have personally worked to get 3 of our winners signed by managers - one of which was just hired to write a script for StudioCanal. It is my personal goal every time to land representation or an option agreement for our winners.
We are running our 6th Feature Screenwriting Contest now and our judges come from Circle of Confusion, Verve, Wonderstreet Entertainment, TCA Mgmt, Cold Iron Productions, Good Fear Management, and Intrinsic Value Films, among others. You can check it out here: https://www.stage32.com/happy-writers/contests/6th-Annual-Feature-Screen...
All of that to say, make sure the contests you are entering are actually able to move your career forward and don't leave you off at the curb with a trophy or a copy of Final Draft.

I've won, placed, shown and not even been in the running at many screenwriting contests over the past decade or more. I think Screencraft was one of them. Frankly, none of them -good, mediocre and bad ones - has ever provided me with a damn bit of a professional lift. I've had far greater success on my own. But that's just me.

Hey Doug Nelson have you ever considered entering a Stage 32 contest? If you win, I will personally see that you get into rooms with decision makers. And if you're a finalist, we'll send out your logline to 500+ industry pros. I would love to help move your projects forward.
The comments regarding the legitimacy of Screencraft competitions are old, 4 years. Is there something more recent to know whether its worth it?
