Hello everyone! So nice to e-meet you. I am a SAG-AFTRA actor with a Neuroscience undergrad degree and was in a Ph.D. program for genetics before moving to Los Angeles - where I booked one of the final episodes of The Big Bang Theory, so it all worked out ;)
I am working on breaking into TV writing -- I was a semifinalist for the Humanitas NEW VOICES program, top 6% for last year's NBC Writer's On the Verge program, and was a top 10 finalist for a Stage 32 pilot competition! I was a head writer on a sci-fi audio drama anthology (The Veil from Voxx Studios) and was hired to write a holiday feature at the end of last year. I have several comedy and dramedy pilots, and this year I was selected as one of 6 writers for the Blackmagic Collective "Future Women of TV" program, where I meet with different executives, showrunners, and directors every week.
I look forward to hearing about your writing journeys!
Hello Sarah! Sounds like you have quite a story as far as moving from neuroscience to acting and writing. Do you apply any of your undergraduate knowledge to your writing in any way? Nice to meet you!
Vincent Paterno How fun! Thanks for sharing :)
Brian Carlin Indeed - I had a fun time writing on the sci-fi audio drama anthology, and a few of the episodes had genetics themes. I also have a medical dramedy pilot that has placed well in contests. Always a good time when I can include a bit of science in my writing!
Vincent Paterno Yes, I know several people in Chuck Lorre's camp -- some great folks!
Nice to meet you. Sarah J. Eagen , Congratulations on making it happen in LA! I am happy for you :)
