Introduce Yourself : Hello from New Orleans! by Kelly Lind

Kelly Lind

Hello from New Orleans!

Hello, fellow creatives! Catching the tail end of Introduce Yourself Weekend here. I'm an actor based in New Orleans, and I have worked in many areas of film and TV in front of and behind the camera. Besides acting, my two other favorite things are traveling and animals; my dream job is to act in/host a TV show or film abroad where I get to work with animals. During COVID, I've kept my creative juices flowing by taking some acting classes and workshops, as well as making various fun flavors of ice cream and studying languages on Duolingo.

I've also been working with a team to develop a show about the old-school, high society side of New Orleans that is rarely seen by outsiders, starring Bryan Batt of Mad Men fame. You can read more about it here:

Stay safe and healthy, y'all!

Hey, Kelly Lind! My name is Kay, I'm the Community Manager here at Stage 32. Nice to meet you! Congrats on your projects - it sounds like you've been keeping busy while staying safe! Did you see that we're hosting a very special acting lab? I think you might dig it: https://www.stage32.com/classes/Stage-32-Acting-Lab-Perform-and-Master-a-Monologue-%20-Mock-Audition-with-a-Casting-Director

I wasn’t sure if you saw the post, but a member asked about what to include in an actor’s reel, and I would love to hear your thoughts!

There is also a post with some great advice on how to keep your voice in good working order while on hiatus I thought you might enjoy as an actor: https://www.stage32.com/lounge/acting/Maintaining-vocal-health-during-st... Of course, feel free to stick around and start a post of your own! What do you want to talk about?

Keep in mind that these lounges are like the VIP Filmmaker's Lounges at Film Festivals, so this is where you can meet the people doing the work, get advice on anything you're working on, and/or give back to those who may need advice. We're a very supportive and encouraging community! I think you'd also enjoy my intro blog post on how to engage with the Stage32 Community:

Enjoy exploring the lounges, and don't forget to comment and respond to others’ posts, too! It's the best way to really connect! And, of course, feel free to reach out at any time.

Hi Kelly! Just read the articles you posted about Garden District, and all I can say is "WOW!" I'm really impressed! I will definitely be interested in following its progress as you all try to get it made into a full series, and watching it once it gets made (which I'm sure it will). Rosary's Dubuffet family almost sounds like they could be cousins to my Delacroix family in Bayou Noir, too. (BTW, their last name is a nod to the old Forever Knight series, since it's a spin on the surname of the main antagonist, Lucien Lacroix.)
