Jack Sprat What are the politics that can block EP credit in this context? Is the credit the studio/distributor's leverage for being involved? Is it a "pay your dues and get it later" thing?
Jack Sprat One last scenario. Assume I have some years as a writer in the business..If I wrote the script myself, secured distribution with say lionsgate and funded the whole film, am I getting EP credit? What context does a writer get EP credit?
Just to throw a curveball into this discussion - I've been offered EP credit in exchange for reduced day rates, using equipment on set at no cost, and/or funding food/crafty. EP credit often just shows that you were committed to the production beyond your initial role.
