Introduce Yourself : Screenwriter by John P. Grace

John P. Grace

Screenwriter

Hi Members,

I’ve been enjoying Stage 32 offerings and assistance for a while now so it’s about time I introduced myself.

I’m a Welsh born screenwriter now living in Canada. I’ve written feature-length scripts set in the USA, UK, Canada and Jamaica and have been optioned a couple of times with one in development. Lots of ups and downs getting it going...a top Director was attached but withdrew etc.

I enjoy the writing process though so won’t ever give up.....(won’t give up the day job quite yet either!)

Iechydd da!

John

Karen "Kay" Ross

Hey, John P. Grace! My name is Kay, I'm the Community Manager here at Stage 32. If you'd like to learn more about myself and the Stage32 Team, we have an intro blog: https://www.stage32.com/blog/Meet-the-Stage-32-Team Nice to meet you!

Wow, yeah, it's been a while since your last post - welcome back! Congrats on being an optioned writer! Getting it into production is a separate victory, so celebrate the ones as they come, I say. What are you working on now? Anything we can help with?

I’m sure you’ve already discovered the Screenwriting Lounge (https://www.stage32.com/lounge/screenwriting), but definitely reach out on the Acting Lounge (https://www.stage32.com/lounge/acting) for insight into characters, dialogue, and even when you want to generate interest in a virtual table read! Table reads are a great way to get new collaborators excited about your project AND are COVID safe!

Keep in mind that these lounges are like the VIP Filmmaker's Lounges at Film Festivals, so this is where you can meet the people doing the work, get advice on anything you're working on, and/or give back to those who may need advice. We're a very supportive and encouraging community! I think you'd also enjoy my intro blog post on how to engage with the Stage32 Community:

Enjoy exploring the lounges, and don't forget to comment and respond to others’ posts, too! It's the best way to really connect! And, of course, feel free to reach out at any time. Cheers!
