Introduce Yourself : Happy to be here :) by Sunee Foley

Happy to be here :)

Although I am getting involved slowly, I'm thrilled to take advantage of all Stage 32 has to offer. I have been writing all of my life, but I began play writing in 1998 and I was hooked! I became a Theatre Arts teacher where I could put my love of directing, choreographing, acting and play writing together. It was a truly awesome experience, however, health issues forced me to retire. As my health improved I began writing again. I enjoy writing most anything from comedy to issue-driven plays and stories. I am drawn to issue-driven material that explores adversities and problems people struggle to pull themselves out of, such as how the disease(s) of alcoholism and addiction affect not only the addict/alcoholic, but everyone in their lives. I just began a screenwriting course and I can't wait to learn this art and see where I go with it.

Karen "Kay" Ross

Hey, Sunee Foley! My name is Kay, I'm the Community Manager here at Stage 32. If you'd like to learn more about myself and the Stage32 Team, we have an intro blog: https://www.stage32.com/blog/Meet-the-Stage-32-Team Nice to meet you and welcome to the community!

Dude, there are a TON of resources on Stage32, so definitely pace yourself! What are you working on? I love your mission behind your stories. I often write coming-of-age stories that advocate for all people's "inner teenager". I used to teach Film & TV Production to teenagers and I still feel like I am a voice for them now.

I'm sure you've already discovered the Authoring & Playwriting Lounge (https://www.stage32.com/lounge/playwriting), but I'd LOVE for you to post in the Acting Lounge as well! Especially with your theatre background, I think our members would love to learn from your expertise! https://www.stage32.com/lounge/acting

Keep in mind that these lounges are like the VIP Filmmaker's Lounges at Film Festivals, so this is where you can meet the people doing the work, get advice on anything you're working on, and/or give back to those who may need advice. We're a very supportive and encouraging community! I think you'd also enjoy my intro blog post on how to engage with the Stage32 Community:

Enjoy exploring the lounges, and don't forget to comment and respond to others’ posts, too! It's the best way to really connect! And, of course, feel free to reach out at any time. Cheers!

Sunee Foley

Thank you so very much! I will definitely start exploring the lounges and responding to people. I appreciate your support!
