Hi All
I'm a screenwriter living in Cape Town.
I just finished my polishing my 3rd feature in time to enter into some competitions. Quite bleak though that I missed the Stage 32 one of a couple weeks ago. My focus for the next while now is to get representation. I've purchased a few pitches from Stage 32 for next month. I'm super excited about that. I also did the mentorship consult with Jason Mirch here on the site, which was awesome.
I'm also organizing a very cool SCREENWRITERS SAFARI in South Africa, 15-20 September 2021. I have some BEYOND INCREDIBLE mentors. I'm honored beyond words that Stage 32 has partnered with me. RB BOTTO and AMANDA TONEY are BOTH coming as mentors (+ others). You can check out the website (below) if you want see what's the buzz.
I am of course hustling to get my scripts produced on a daily basis. I am stoked that I have recently attached an A-list composer who worked with Freddy Mercury on the Barcelona album, so maybe that's gonna help my cause.. we will see.
... If anything here resonates... let's connect. :)
Eve
p.s. The pic. is of JELLY, one of the love's of my life who is my inspiration to live life to the fullest.
howdy awesome website!

Nice to e-meet you Eve. I´m a cat person myself, but had a big lolloping Alsatian back in 2000-2003 when I was in a relationship. Gave up the dog and got married instead (a good swap) and we have 2 kids, a boy going on 10, and a girl aged 11 whose middle name is EVE.
I too write when I can, but proofread and translate when the jobs come in. I too have written scripts as well as books. In retrospect, I can see how my writing has improved, from when I started, which has taught me NOT to be too disheartened when people don´t like my writing, but when I see movies that are getting a load of hype, and have brilliant trailers or previews, yet end up being a boars arse, I often wonder why they were made in the first place.
I am sure, writers like you and I, are just ahead of our time, like Edgar Alan Poe, who has since his writings were published has had almost all stories made into movies, like Jules Verne and H.G. Wells.

hi Jelly and Eve, I fell happy for you, keep working! Hope to share your experience one day ;)
Best wishes with your projects (I especially like "Love In the Time of Apartheid"). My girlfriend is a nurse from Ghana, and while I'm not sure if she's ever been to South Africa, this "Hollywood on Safari" idea sounds fascinating. A salute from a fellow screenwriter.
