We didn't have time to get to my idea today, so I'll post it here for anyone who wants to provide feedback...
The client is the CIA and the imperiled is a foreign asset-level defector with intimate knowledge of secret plans to hack and disrupt the U.S. power grid. Now he’s inside of Reverie and won’t come out.
Mara goes in and discovers the reason for his defection. He is a sadistic serial killer and the authorities in his country were closing in on him, a fact that is unknown to his CIA handlers.
As long as he remains immersed in Reverie, he can relive his sadistic pleasures over and over again and avoid satisfying his agreement with the CIA to divulge details of the hack. He gets everything he wants – without being a traitor.
Mara’s immediate emotional reaction is to abandon him to die in Reverie, but if she does, she will place Oniratech’s relationship with the US Government in jeopardy, potentially destroying the company, not to mention placing hundreds of millions of Americans at risk.
But there’s something else. The killer is becoming obsessed with Mara. If he gets out and goes into witness protection, he’ll hunt her down, and he probably won’t stop with her.
Mara traps him with Paul Hammond’s help by tricking him into believing that a backdoor exists into Reverie, so the CIA will be able to go in and get him, and he will lose the deal he made with them and be extradited for his crimes.
She tells him that she has kept his secret and negotiated a new deal with his handlers, so that after he gives them the information he wants, they will give him unlimited access to Reverie.
Mara succeeds in extracting him, but Hammond secretly plants a “tell” to identify him when he logs back in under his new identity. When he does he closes his exit forever.
Charlie Ventana and Monica Shaw suspect what Hammond’s done and will use it as leverage in dealings with Hammond and Mara in the future. This also plants the seeds for additional complications in future episodes.

I loved every minute of the class! I'm working on my 'introduction....' literally for another class. I'll post as soon as I've done my homework : )

Well done Mark Dispenza . Loved the class. Prior to this class I knew nothing about the show REVERIE. What a great story engine it had. Loved the interaction of the class. Now I want to be part of a show's writer's room.
Me, too. It's creative fun.
