Work in LA

Hi everyone!

I'm Frank, screenwriter and actor from Montreal, Canada. I'm posting this here in the hope to receive advices. Here's my goal: move to the US and try to make it into the tv and film business. As a realistic person, I know, I won't just pack my backpack and leave without a plan. I recently finished a business college degree in business management/marketing and already have a trailer music business that sold music to 20th Century, Paramount and so on. I'm now starting a production company along with a strong partner in the business. Here's what we can produce: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xd48JB-nHhE

We have the same objective: to make it into this business. "The big dream" I know. So, that was a little background, now, I'm seeking for advices! How hard is it to find a job in the entertainment business, how was it for you to breakthrough?

Also, I heard things like "the California dream is dead", etc, is it real? I know it's expensive, etc. But Is it still worth it or what I heard is just bullshit?

(I know that traveling is not safe at the moment).

Thanks and looking forward for your advices!

Frank

Hi, Frank Romeo! Happy to network.

Claude makes a very good point. Vancouver BC is a strong filmmaking center and it's on the west coast (closer to LA and you wouldn't need a visa). What's the matter with Toronto or Montreal? You got a short/trailer you want me to run in Oregon?
