I spoke with an up-and-coming producer earlier today and while I thought I would be the one to give her advice, I left feeling super inspired! What did I learn?
- Do your research: Homework may have sucked when you were in school, but in filmmaking, it's really fun!
- Begin with the end in mind: think as your audience while you're making your art
- Put It Out There: Whatever you have - something you've written, something you've filmed, something you've animated - just put it out there to complete the creative cycle. DOING THE THING BEFORE YOU'RE READY MAKES YOU READY!
What little nugget of wisdom did you pick up today?
Not feeling deep? No problem - what are you watching tonight (other than Falcon and Winter Soldier - DUH! LOL)?
Is no one watching anything this weekend? LOL!

I just finished season 1 of sweet magnolias. Definitely teared a couple times near the end

Agreeing with your "putting it out there." No other business entry is more reliant on one's approach to personal branding than this one. Add: This doesn't mean being pushy; always be polite.

Ooo, good rec, Bridget Klassen-Brule! I've heard good things about Sweet Magnolias - it's going on the list! Oh, man, Pidge Jobst - branding has been the boon and the bane since moving to LA. I think just staying true to yourself as much as you can the key. But who am I to say - I'm still learning!
