Hello everyone, I'm new to Stage32 and I'm looiking to do a reality TV show based on my business, Jackets for Jobs-www.jacketsforjobs.org . There is so much information on this site, I'm not sure where to start. HELP.........
Hi, Alison. Great to connect with you. I really like the name "Jackets for Jobs."
A pitch deck is a great tool for reality TV shows. Some pitch decks (like ones I make) are just for pitching. Other pitch decks are for getting funding for reality TV shows.
I use Canva.com to make pitch decks. It's free. Some features are available with a $12.99 monthly plan (after a thirty-day free trial).
If you would like to see an example of a reality TV show pitch deck (for pitching), I have one in the logline section on my Stage 32 page. The show is titled "Huge!"
There are webinars on Stage 32 that might help you with pitch decks, pitching your reality TV show, and getting funding for it.
Welcome, Alison. Definitely take Maurice's advice and look into some of the webinars. But, if you want to meet other like-minded writers and exchange more information, maybe consider joining the Writers Room. I've met a lot of writers there and we stay in-touch and break story together. This might be helpful to you at your current stage. Also, consider reaching out to Jason Mirch, Director of Script Services at j.mirch@stage32.com. He will steer you in the right direction. Best of luck!
One easy way to get your idea out there, is create it yourself + post on YouTube, which has a massive audience. Build your own audience, and once you have a decent following, create a sizzle reel and pitch to production companies that create reality shows.
