I lived in the 'burbs just east of Cleveland (the mistake by the lake). My personal pov is that Cleveland was/is a horror fest. I escaped in the early '60s - maybe it's changed, I don't know.
haha yes I'm sure it was a horror show back then, but definitely much has changed since...there's been a lot of redevelopment of the Flats and waterfront areas, and the areas around the Cleveland Clinic and University Circle, they redid Public Square and made everything great when we hosted the Republican National Convention in 2016...the Cleveland Playhouse moved downtown to Playhouse Square, making us the second largest theatre district in the country outside of Broadway. Tons of new development projects keep popping up. I think it's safe to say that the Cleveland you knew from the 60s is long gone, and the new Cleveland is probably unrecognizable. Happy to show you around if you ever make it back out this way again!
