Introduce Yourself : Biggest “Fail” So Far by Victor Jordan

Biggest “Fail” So Far

Hey guys my name is Victor (call me Vic) . I mainly write animation but do some live-action as well. My biggest fail isn’t exactly a fail per say, but a bit of an oopsie. I recently sent a pitch to an exec and they really liked it. In fact everything got five out of fives except the pitch format. The only reason they passed was because they weren’t taking animation right now. That being said it did give me immense confidence in the project moving forward.

Hey, Vic! Ooo, yeah - sometimes reading that fine print can trip you up. But hey - you've got some great feedback to keep you moving forward! Have you found more execs that are looking for animation? Definitely reach out to our Director of Script Services, Jason Mirch, who would have a good sense of who is looking for what genres: J.Mirch@stage32.com

Also, have you met Bob Harper? He's from Grilled Cheese Media and often posts/comments in the Animation Lounge (https://www.stage32.com/lounge/animation). You should chat him up: https://www.stage32.com/lounge/introduce_yourself/My-Fail-Story

Hi Karen thanks for the help. I've seen a few animation execs and I'm in the process of pitching my project to one now. I'll definitely check out Bob Harper as well.

Karen "Kay" Ross

Sweet! Glad to hear you're still pitching it! GO FOR IT!

John McCartney

Victor, hi I'm John. I'm getting ready to do a live pitch.

they said 10 mins. Also I know my script is a BLOCK BUSTER FILM. I looked at all the variables, spoke to mentors in film and television. I'm being told give them a great presentation and numbers. if they still don't feel it don't take it personal. I will...I see so many films and tv series and ask, How did they get Grern lit.

My casting alone with bring folks to the yard.

Animation is hot. If I had the money yes

John Mezes

Hi Vic, remember NO just means New Opportunity!!! Keep on pitching, buddy!

Victor Jordan

Hey John if you put in that much work and effort someone is definitely going to pick up your film. And John is right no matter how many Nos you get there's always a few Yes right around the corner.

Beth MacLean

Yes! It’s a numbers game, it only takes One Yes!

Matthew Parvin

In the world we live in, I'd say that's a win. Good on you!
