Does anybody have an advice on getting my stories and scripts out there? Any apps I can post my stories on? Also is it helpful to post teasers of my stories on Instagram or any social media platform?
I find Instagram really dynamic according to the amount of time I spend on there delving into people's content, I enjoy it so I'm on there at least an hour or two a day having largely switched over from facebook,
so I put the pitch deck for one of my feature scripts on one of my three Instagram accounts which is my "author" account (I also have my visual art profile on there and a separate one for my first novel).
But it takes a lot of time to develop a meaningful following. I just love watching surfing videos and looking at lots of art!
There are a lot of platforms, I don't know which ones are free,
I hear good things about InkTip, Coverfly.
Seems to me Stage 32 here has a tremendous amount of depth and an integrated platform with a lot of industry people and relationships so I just posted two scripts on my profile here and this is the only site where I am currently doing that.
I was once told, if my story is powerful and simple, every "content" aggregators, studio would jump in wanting to put my stories on their platforms. If the story is weak, no matter wherever we put it, it can hardly make the needed impact unless you double spend from the making of the story to marketing, advertising. So see if you have that great story, and seek inputs from genuine reviewers, and put it on any platform which makes you feel comfortable to control and earn if that's possible. Rest will follow.
Be wary of constantly posting stuff on social media, especially teasers, not only is it pretty much ineffective it will likely drive away friends who feel they are being spammed. You need to find a healthy balance and drive people down a clear path where they can get to your bio and material.
You can upload your scripts on this very platform plus I run one called Script Revolution which is free. There's not a lot else out there that isn't tied to some sort of mechanism you have to pay into so be guarded and careful as trying to find exposure can quickly become a bad gambling addiction.
CJ Walley right! I saw that on your profile and look forward to checking it out, you obviously have developed a powerful mechanism there and it sounds like you have a lot of great industry experience, thanks for the reminder!
