Hello. I'm a senior screenwriter(senior in age not experience). I've written two feature length screenplays & am trying to figure how to find the producers/directors that do my type of story. My characters are Hispanic & the location is New Mexico. Any ideas on how to breakdown the research process? Thanks for any feedback.
You're not the only senior citizen writing screenplays. Do you mean research as in your subject matter or do you mean researching screenwriting and pitching?
The story I'm getting out there is about outsiders. I can't think of a recent film about outsiders or who would be interested in such a story as well as doing a story predominately about Hispanics from a small town.
You might try and enter them into film festivalsin your area. NM is the hub of film right now
Lots of us Boomers here, Leo! You're in good company. A good start is to begin using the Stage 32 pitching services. Maybe start by searching for folks who have produced in your genre, are looking for the kind of stories you've written, and use the eight-minute live pitching or one-page written pitch to get introductions and feedback. Wishing you success!
