Producing : Why is this so hard? by Jacob Siciliano

Jacob Siciliano

Why is this so hard?

Maybe the answer is a little more clear than what I’m making it out to be but it has been the hardest thing trying to find a line producer or at least someone to help the producer for my film with the budget so this project can be presented to investors and such.

Kiril Maksimoski

Plenty of line producers here...post an ad...

Dan MaxXx

It aint that hard. Have $1500 U.S. dollars and I will find you a line producer to budget/schedule breakdown.

Cherelynn Baker

What's the budget for the project and rate for the line producer? Union or non? Is the production stateside - or international - which begets the question of what travel is included in the line producer contract? Answers to these questions in hand and an ad on IMDb or Stage 32 or in Facebook groups for film crew will find you the line producer you are looking for. No money? No line producer. Why ? Because it is an integral role in production.

Jacob Whitley

A lot of line producers don't want to get involved until there's money in place. I get it. I've built a lot of budgets for people pro bono that never ended up getting funding. It's a lot of work for a low chance of return.

Shane Stanley

It’s a job you need to hire someone to do who knows their stuff. Deep breaths, you’ve got this.

Jacob Siciliano

@Jacob Whitley I completely understand that and it’s a tough situation to be in where people want to be paid but there is no money because a budget is needed as part of the pitch deck to get investors interested. If only I could find someone who would do pro bono and until once that happens but like you said, even just the budget is a lot of work.

Jacob Whitley

If your pitch is good, you could always try pitching to small investors for development money.
