For years I've considered myself a producer, and have worked on a myriad of small productions in that position as well as a lot of big name shows in much, much smaller positions, but until recently I've never realized that there were specific paths to those positions that were outside of the departments I was interacting with. In your experience, or if you've heard about someone else's experience in this realm, what would you describe as the steps to become a creative or development producer in the big realm (Studio/Over A Million Dollar Union projects). I'm starting to realize there are more defined positions in that realm that lead to where I want to go but I would love insight into what the recommended steps are and the nuances in positions when working towards that position that aren't necessarily defined in the super indie realm. (aka smaller budget projects).
