Hi,
When I first came across Stage 32 I could see what a wonderful idea it was and even though I was at the very beginning of my journey I believed at least I could watch listen and learn. That was 3 years ago. And this is my first lounge post.
Like pretty much everyone else COVID has set me back a couple of years.
Feeling massively like an imposter to even be here, I’ll keep plugging on with my short film projects, feature on the horizon as well. Hope our paths will cross at some point. We don’t even have to be in the same country to collaborate , right?
See you on the red carpet
Mina
Great to meet you, Mina Maniska, and welcome to the community! Or at least welcome out of the shadows and into the lounges! No need to feel like an imposter. If you're doing the work, then we're all on the same page here. And you're quite right - we don't have to be in the same country to collaborate!
What are you working on?
You may have already discovered the Screenwriting Lounge (https://www.stage32.com/lounge/screenwriting), but definitely check out the Filmmaking Lounge (https://www.stage32.com/lounge/directing) to connect with other like-minded creatives!
Keep in mind that these lounges are like the VIP Filmmaker's Lounges at Film Festivals, so this is where you can meet the people doing the work, get advice on anything you're working on, and/or give back to those who may need advice. We're a very supportive and encouraging community! I think you'd also enjoy my blog post on how to get the most out of the Stage32 Community:

Enjoy exploring the lounges, and don't forget to comment and respond to others’ posts, too! It's the best way to really connect!

Thanks for reaching out, will definitely get more involved in the lounges. I’m self funded and, thanks to COVID, have a few short projects I’d like to get up and running. One on immigration, one that is decidedly feminist and one that’s a sci-fi spoof about the end of the world
PS am in Australia

That sounds amazing! Keep at it, Mina Maniska! If there is anything I've found to be true, it's that assistance finds you working, so keep making progress, no matter how small.
