Hi everyone my name is Osagie from Edo state Nigeria. I recently graduated from college with an engineering degree (one that I am not yet so excited about) you may be wondering why? Well in Africa or Nigeria more specifically to have a degree from perceived prestigious fields— science related professions— automatically guarantees some form of success a dogma adopted by most elderly people ( not that it doesn't in some cases) This prelim to my story is just to indicate that my decision of course of study was influenced by my parents and to also say I don't have it all figured out yet. I am 21 years old and all my life I have only seen myself find passion in stories either telling them or playing roles in small dramas in school and church (but I haven't done any much of that since I began my journey into the sciences). I was lucky to find stage32 watched one webinar by Christopher Mack, I found it both inspiring and educative. I now aspire to pursue a career in filmmaking and hope to find mentors and contacts in the industry to help me build a career out of my passion. I believe the stage32 community can be very helpful in achieving my dreams.

Good to meet you, Osagie Ikhalea, and welcome to the community! Oh, hey, congratulations on your recent graduation, that's fantastic! Yeah, there are parents like that here in the US as well, but you have to listen to yourself as an adult, especially as new information becomes available.
Your occupations are listed as "Actor and Songwriter" - are you also a screenwriter? I find screenwriters and producers are the ones who most enjoyed the Netflix webinar by Chris Mack. Feel free to add more under "occupation" on your profile so people know they can approach you as a writer as well!
