Hi, fellow creatives! I want to write a three-part miniseries about Rilke and need to collaborate with a writer who speaks German and French. It's a passion project for now but I could invest/work to push for production in the future. Anyone up for it or do you know anyone who would be interested? Wow... sounds really interesting! French is my native language. I've taken German classes before, but that was 20 years ago, and I've probably forgotten 80-90% of my knowledge and could use a refresher. But anyway, if there's no one else, maybe I could help out a little?

Sounds sehr schön! Bon chance! What is the driving force of the story? It is an exciting and passionate milieu, what keeps the character moving through his arc?

I read both languages quite well, but would not be comfortable writing in them.
As a complete aside, I read Rilke's Wiki when I saw your post, and his only novel is partly inspired by the Danish novel Niels Lyhne. In that period, Danish literature, including plays, was widely translated into German, and Thomas Mann, for example, was inspired by the writings of Herman Bang, another Dane.
It seems to have been a period of extensive cultural cross-pollination across Europe and Russia, to wit Rilke's travels, contacts and literature production in both French and German.

Production wise:
Maybe Alexis Neret and Thomas Grascoeur could be interested after it is written and you secured the money.. I know some Russian actors/actresses, but honestly I need them myself for a holocaust film I am trying to cast. The solution is casting Russian actors/actresses in the county you shoot. Sure there will be less talent to choose from, but there will be no extra costs bringing them from Russia to the set in France or whatever county you want to shoot. Life sucks when you are a writer feeling forced to be a producer. But that is the name of the game; making shorts, (limited) tv series or dare I say features. What I would do if I where you is pay for 1/2 of the limited series yourself and get the rest through croudfunding or/and one more producer/investor. That is all I can make of it.

K. Legason ah, that makes sense! It may help to foreground that arc in your synopsis. That way we know what the story is about, as all these discrete episodes you mention will begin to revolve into a journey with a clear throughline, albeit, with a poetic wandering all the while, worthy of Rainer Maria.
