I’m looking for a Producer to help with my film. It’s called, “Nothing Will Ever Be the Same” about a group of rambunctious 10-12 year olds. It’s set in Bklyn in the early 60’s. It’s all fun and games till one of them is killed, the best friend of Marty., the main character. It’s a coming-of-age story with Marty grappling with the death of his best friend, his first experience with death. It’s based on a true story. The tone is charming and moving. The money is in place for the short and I have an offer for the feature but I am looking for gap financing.
This is what Micelle Sater, the Founding Director of the SUNDANCE Feature Film Program said about it:
"We were all very taken with your talent in writing with its striking visual imagery, layered characters, and the authenticity you brought to the world of Marty growing up in 1960s Brooklyn. I hope you'll continue to stay connected to your passion for your story and your resolve to make this film."
Great to meet you, Matthew A. Handal! Oh, wow, you've been on Stage 32 for a while! Also, congratulations on your excellent encouragement from Micelle Sater. And coming-of-age stories are one of my favorite genres.
Have you put together a pitch for your screenplay as well? I would highly recommend using Stage 32's free Pitching Guidebook to help you structure your pitch, whether it is a 2-page pitch document, a 5-minute verbal pitch, or a 15-30page pitch deck: https://www.stage32.com/sites/stage32.com/themes/two/pdfs/happy-writers/...
If you're ready to start pitching your project to producers, then definitely reach out to our Director of Script Services, Jason Mirch, who is excellent at matching projects with potential executives (or managers, in your case): J.Mirch@stage32.com
