Echoing the sentiments expressed elsewhere in this lounge -- embarking on a writing career means signing up for a long haul. I've had a long, steady career as an animation writer, but my first love is live action (I had my first sitcom sale when I was a junior in college). Which is why I'm glad that my screenplay "The Long View" reached the semifinals of the Stage 32 Family-Friendly Screenwriting Contest. No, I'm not breaking out the champagne yet -- the finalists will be announced in a couple of weeks -- but I sure do appreciate the encouragement. Fingers crossed!
