How y'all doing? I'm Rhee Dolly, and I'm here to say hey! I'm a writer who just finished the first draft of a treatment for a feature film I plan to write this year. So far, I've written a pilot and a short and plan to have five polished works written by the end of this year. If you're new to the game, I recommend reading as many screenplays as possible. Watch as many films and TV shows as possible. Once you learn the format, it's much less daunting. If you're a seasoned pro and staring into the ice-cold eyes of imposter syndrome, you tell it to darken someone else's doorstep; even the most prolific writers struggle with it, but they keep moving, one word at a time. Fact is, we all have a story to tell, so get to writing. The first draft doesn't have to be award-winning; it just has to be written. I hope y'all stay warm and stay inspired!
Nice to meet you Rhee. Thanks so much for sharing your advice. I love the fact that you said we all have a story to tell because you are right. I'm a beginner writer and find myself at times getting stuck but this year my focus has been on continuing to write and write more.
