Hello. I'm new to the site. I've been writing since I was around 10. However, I'm just now getting into writing screenplays. I have several shorts that I plan to shoot this year myself, and I'm here to promote my miniseries "I'll Get You", a coming of age crime drama. I don't think I can shoot it myself, and I hope to find a director or studio that will make it. Everyone who reads it, loves it. So, I'm here to do what I can to make it happen.

Definitely work on shooting some shorts. You learn a lot about what works by actually working with actors, camera persons, and editors. If you can, try your hand at editing also. It's the closest part of the process to writing, and happens at the end so functions as the last rewrite.
Mike Boas, I remember hearing someone say writers should learn how to edit because it will help them write scripts.
