YOU'RE INVITED - Sept 6th - 7PM to 10PM - Apik Art Gallery in Calgary, Alberta
I'm playing a show at Eau Claire Market in association with a great fundraiser for an epic arts documentary I'm producing & directing later this year called "Convergence."
In this documentary Master Jazz Saxophonist, Mark DeJong, contemporary dancer and choreographer, Jocelyn Mah, expressionist painter, Katherine Lakeman and myself as director and producer team up to capture and explore the convergence of inspiration that occurs when a group of artists from different disciplines create together in a single space and time.
Using each other as inspiration for our own flow-states we will first perform, capture and then discuss a powerful and simultaneous creative event where the product is a result of something larger than any one of us.
Our goal is to capture the moment(s) where inspiration strikes and then to discuss and deconstruct these moments to reveal commonalities, nuances and a more clear understanding of how to cultivate these powerful moments as artists.
