Got to write and produce this animated short. It's the 2nd episode of a series I'm working on. Originally the episodes were planned to be 20 - 30 minutes, but budget cuts and all that. The third episode is already greenlit.

Rosemond Perdue That is the opinion of many others on the team. The problem with that is that they want every episode to be a fight scene as a result. There actually is a serious, dramatic sci fi story I've developed for this that was originally intended to be told in 25 - 30 minute episodes. But in this shorter format, exposition and serious plot development get sidelined for action. Thankfully, they're also paying me to write a novel based on the IP, so I get to develop the plot there.

Your post reminds me, in a good way, of the movie, Slapshot, when minor league hockey players learned NHL scouts are watching them. Congrats writing for $$; seems many here are embarrassed to write for money first, art second.
